Hey dude, do you have any tips for making this kind of music?

There's not really a formula for any of this. It's kind of bossa nova inspired so the harmonies are built off of 7th and 9th extensions in the harmonies. That's not particularly crazy for jazz stuff, but it's good to know if that's not really your thing. The rhythm is based on a clave (which can be confusing to look up because it's both the name of an instrument and a rhythm) though it's modified to kind of blur the lines into an indie rock feel. All the rest of it is just a series of decisions that have to be made during the process based on taste and feel.
I wish I had a specific "how to" for this stuff because it would make it easier to just plug variables in and spit out music, but I guess the work is half of the fun. I'm happy to talk shop about whatever you'd like, but it's generally easier if you have a specific question about something. Feel free to DM.
