amazing, how did you get the lighting to look the way it did?

I always decide on the background first to quickly set up the piece's mood.
I knew beforehand I wanted a piece with a lot of contrast (other times, I just wanted harmony in the work), so I purposefully selected cold colors that were analogous between them (the blues) and put them versus a highly saturated warm color (the pink hue in the light).
For the shading itself, I make a shape with the Lasoo tool and then apply a gradient with a soft brush (like working with an airbrush) for the shading to fade in, and that technique stacks each other with each layer of render I make.
The heavy lift of all this is undoubtedly the black spots; chiaroscuro is the technique in which you use strong contrasts of light and dark. It's the standard in comic art because it lets you describe a lot of volume in just the inking.
I hope that helps!
Just wanted to let you know that I've used this artwork for a school task of mine, if you could, could you tell me what brushes you used in the artwork?
Letting you know that I'm using your artwork for a school task of mine, I like the painted background, but I feel as if the arms could've been improved, of course, this is literally decades old, so not much we can do about that.
Letting you know that I'm using your artwork for a school task of mine, good art.
sniping's a good job mate.
man he looks very nervous. Poor guy.
And then you wake up again, to see the darkness of your room, it's 1:25 am, you get out of the bed and open the window blinds. You see the night sky, you'd expect there to be stars, to be hope.
But it's cloudy tonight, and there's pollution from the city and it feels like there's nothing but the darkness of a cold, indifferent universe.
But then a star streaks across the night's sky, and you make a wish, what that wish was is up to you, maybe to meet again, maybe to move on.
Whatever it is, you're here now, and that's what matters, you must keep moving forward into a better future, but you should not forget the woman who gave you temporary peace of mind, she deserved better than that.
To the poor bastard who can't jerk off because he's in the military, do not cry, for your sacrifice is not in vain, you have inspired me to create a meme artwork depicting a fictional soldier of mine lamenting that he cannot jerk off, for he is in the military.
Semper Fi or however you say it.
